Making mindful leadership accessible

High-quality leadership training has for the most part been a luxury that is not generally accessible to under-privileged groups who face the greatest adversity, even though they stand to benefit most from such training. We are committed to changing this.

Calm Clarity was built from the first-hand realization that the biggest obstacles people face are actually inside their heads in the form of self-limiting beliefs. To break the cycle of poverty, young people need effective tools and strategies to manage the chaos and challenges in their everyday life. They also need hope and faith that they can change their lives.

Therefore, Calm Clarity designed and tested a high-quality evidence-based essential life skills training that addresses social-emotional skill gaps and self-limiting beliefs that are prevalent in low-income communities.  In particular, the program includes contemplative practices that research has shown can help reverse the negative effects of childhood adversity and chronic stress on brain development.

By training under-privileged students to build resilience and leadership skills, together we can end the trans-generational transmission of toxic stress and trauma in low-income communities.

“Educate your children to self-control, to the habit of holding passion and prejudice and evil tendencies subject to an upright and reasoning will, and you have done much to abolish misery from their future and crimes from society.”

~Benjamin Franklin

Creating Collective Success

In 2017, Calm Clarity helped launch the Collective Success Network, a new nonprofit to increase college success by building a platform for professionals to support, mentor and empower low-income first-generation college students to achieve their academic, personal, and professional aspirations.
